The CSL-550M can be used to provide a dynamic field of view control between 5.3mm and 46.9mm focal lengths. And because its focal length is always higher than 5.0mm, there is no curvature distortion in the video image as seen with very wide angle lenses.

This is a varifocal zoom lens, and all lens adjustments must be made manually by hand. Once the desired focal length is acheived, the lens has thumb screws which tighten to maintain that specific focal length. We also carry fixed focus C-mount lenses for those applications where desired.

The CSL-550M has a manually adjustable iris control as well. This allows the user to adjust the amount of light which passes through the lens optical glass and reaches the imager for a specific amount of available lighting. This lens also has thumb screws which tighten to maintain a desired iris setting. When room illumination is likely to remain constant, a manual iris lens in fact offers better overall image quality in many situations than does an auto-iris lens. We do, though, stock a similar lens with built-in auto-iris ability, our CSL-550A.

This lens has a security-industry standard CS-mount lens thread, making it compatible with the following Eyespyvideo.com models: TV-CSHRL, TV-CSHR, TV-CSHDN, TV-BCSHR , and TV-XCS.

  • The wide dynamic range (WDR) function of a camera is intended to provide clear images even under extreme light circumstances where intensity of illumination can vary excessively, namely when there are both very bright and very dark areas simultaneously in the field of view of the camera. WDR enables the capture and display of both bright and dark areas in the same frame, in a way that there are details in both areas, i.e. bright areas are not saturated, and dark areas are not too dark. It also offers amazing low light capability.
  • Digital Noise refers to the random dot pattern that is superimposed on the picture as a result of electronic noise; the 'snow' that is similar to what can be seen with poor (analog) television reception or on VHS tapes. The Digital Noise Reduction feature reduces that "noise" from the cctv camera image.
