This unit is often overlooked as the real potential life saver it is. The "380+ horizontal TV lines cam provides a sharp (though 'fisheye' wide distorted) picture. With the newly revised COLOR 1/3" Sony SuperHAD DSP (digital signal processing) CCD imager chipset- this features identical picture quality to many of our other standard resolution board and bullet cameras.
It must be mentioned that installation of this product into a doorway may require some additional modification to the door itself, even if replacing an existing peephole-type viewer. Typically, this just means drilling a slightly wider hole. *So, if a renter, you may want to give this some additional consideration or obtain permission to allow the slight modification for sake of security.

Cautions:
This is a non-weatherproof camera, and as such- must be treated with extra care and NEVER left outdoors without the proper protective housings. The face itself actually can be exposed to the outside, provided a protective ring of silicone is applied to the face of door when installing.
Because this camera typically requires some twisting of the housing threads (to increase or decrease to adjust to door thickness), the video power cable extending from the back of the unit must be protected from twisting at the same time.
Fixed-mount lens is not interchangeable like our CS-mount or board lens cameras.
