The BAT-2 mobile battery connector is a well suited for some limited applications. This device can be used as a portable power supply for some Eyespyvideo.com video equipment which operates on as little as 9 volts DC. The BAT-2 is also the connector plug for our "AA" and "AAA" mobile battery packs.

The BAT-2 is designed to work with one standard 9v battery cell. To power almost any Eyespyvideo.com video product, alkaline batteries will be required. With a fresh alkaline batteries, voltage peaks at very near 9 volts. As your electronic devices drains this battery cell, voltage slowly drops until there is not enough battery capacity to power your device. At this point a video camera or other piece of Eyespyvideo.com will cease operation.

The amount of current delivered by the BAT-2 pack is up to up to 250 mA (milliamps) for 520 mAh (milliamp-hours) with a fresh alkaline cell according to general battery standards. However, please understand that "12v" devices like miniature video cameras will degrade battery life significantly faster with a 9v battery than with a 12 volt mobile battery pack. In our real world testing, one fresh 9v alkaline battery will continuously power a miniature camera, with power consumption of roughly 100 mA per hour, for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Our AM-1 microphone, in contrast, has a very low 10 mA per hour consumption and can be continuously operated with the BAT-2 for more than four hours. Using an ACC-2Y or ACC-3Y power splitter is not recommended with this product due to the small capacity of 9v batteries. For multiple devices, or to increase battery time significantly, please choose a larger mobile battery pack.

Eight fresh alkaline batteries (1.5v each) installed in the BAT-AAA battery pack will create 12 volts DC power for Eyespyvideo.com cameras, microphones, wireless A/V products, and many more items. Nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) rechargeable 9v batteries do not produce a full 9 volts DC and are therefore not appropriate for use with our BAT-2 connector and any video equipment on Eyespyvideo.com. Other types of 9v battery cells such as lithium ion and lithium polymer may have the potential to increase battery run time, however.

Voltage output is from a standard 2.1mm (inner diameter) x 5.5mm (outer diameter) coaxial power plug. This output plug is seamlessly compatible with the power input plug on Eyespyvideo miniature video cameras and the AM-1 microphone.

This item is also included as a FREE piece of the BAT-1 and BAT-3 battery packs, and it is included with purchase of the AM-1 miniature microphone as well.
